10 Days of a Bad Man Ending Explained: Does Sadik Find Hasmet’s Murderer?

10 Days of a Bad Man follows a forlorn detective, Sadik-Adil, who takes up a deadly assignment while struggling with the horrors of his own past.

Netflix’s latest Turkish thriller 10 Days of a Bad Man, a sequel to the 2023 film 10 Days of a Good Man, offers two compelling storylines that merge the suspense extended by a murder mystery and the thrill offered by a crime drama. Following its protagonist Sadik-Adil (Nejat İşler) who offers a compelling protagonist in the form of a struggling detective, 10 Days of a Bad Man leaves much ground in the story for the ending to cover by the time the parallel storylines prepare for their culmination. The narrative keeps getting complex as the detective’s personal struggle gets intertwined with the direct conflict placed in front of him. However, 10 Days of a Bad Man‘s ending does a decent job of laying out the answers to the questions that may have popped up during the film’s two-hour long run time.

10 Days of a Bad Man Summary

After Sadik-Adil (Nejat İşler) survives a terrible car accident, he is picked up by two henchmen sent by the local gang leader Sir (Erdal Yildiz). Although Sir helps Sadik by paying his hospital bills and keeping the police away by gifting them a television set, the favor puts Sadik in debt to the local gangster. Quickly grabbing the opportunity, Sir tasks Sadik with finding a playboy named Ferhat Gönen. Sir assigns Zeynel (Rıza Kocaoğlu) and Hüso (Kadir Çermik) to keep a close eye on Sadik and report everything to his right-hand man, Hayati, who joined Sir nearly six months back and quickly became his go-to guy. Before leaving with the final instructions, Sadik makes an unusual request and asks Sir to give him pills to resist the pain. Understanding that Sadik is a pill-popper, Sir allows Sadik to have two pills every day.

The following day, Sadik pays a visit to Pinar (İlayda Akdoğan), who had helped him previously in finding a guy named Tevfik. Pinar puts her skills to use and finds out that Ferhat has created a fake social media account to interact with a girl whom he might be dating. At the same time, Sadik is approached by an old acquaintance, Maide, who requests his help with another job, which Sadik hesitantly takes up.

Sadik Finds Himself Solving A Murder Mystery

After assigning Hüso with Pinar to track the girl Ferhat’s been dating, Sadik meets Dr. Buket Köseoglu (Hazal Filiz Küçükköse), the psychiatrist introduced by Maide, who needs Sadik’s help in finding the truth behind her uncle’s death. Apparently, her uncle, Hasmet Köseoglu, was murdered by a Maldivian couple who worked at his mansion during a robbery attempt. Although police believe the couple to be the suspects, Buket’s mother Ismet suspects foul play. Sadik accepts the request in a bid to get his hands on more painkillers through Buket.

Later, Sadik meets Buket’s mother Ismet who shares her suspicion that Hasmet was murdered by his wife Jale in what seems to be a domestic affair. Ismet gives to Sadik the name of the head butler Kenan who can vouch for the character of the two main suspects. Kenan leads Sadik to Timur, the dog caretaker at the mansion. According to Kenan, Timur arranged new higher-paying jobs for the workers, prompting them to leave.

Keeping her end of the deal, Buket takes Sadik to her office for the therapy session, and Sadik starts with his life story. It turns out that Sadik found the love of his life in Fatos (layda Alisa), and they married each other to live a happy life. But Fatos met an unexpected demise during childbirth, and both the mother and daughter died. Sadik was returning after burying his wife and daughter when a tire burst and his car flipped. Sadik manages to convince Buket to some extent with his story, and she gives him the prescriptions for half the amount of painkillers that are part of their deal.

Pinar Comes To Sadik’s Rescue

Sadik’s investigation into Ferhat also achieves some progress when Pinar starts seducing Ferhat online. The group also pays a visit to a local club frequented by Ferhat. When Sadik finds out through Zeynel that the management had handed over a photograph of Ferhat to the guard a few days ago and asked him to call Sadik in case Ferhat appears, Sadik finds himself perplexed by the plot being cooked by Sir. But he asks Zeynel to not report their visit to the club to Hayati.

While Sadik continues to struggle with the memories of his dead wife, he keeps looking into the murder of Hasmet. After digging a bit more into Hasmet’s family history with the help of his informant Sule, Sadik finds a close connection between Buket and Hasmet’s daughter Gül (Hazal Subaşı). Meanwhile, Sadik also finds out about Timur’s daughter Filiz who left her father soon after the death of her mother. It seems like a dead end to Sadik, but thankfully, Pinar brings some good news to him when she informs him that Ferhat has shared the photo of his car’s registration with her and has set up plans to meet with her once he gets free with his current engagements. During the same time, Pinar confesses her attraction towards Adil, who continues to keep the young lady at a distance.

When Sadik and Zeynel return home later that day, they are greeted by Sir who has come to know of Zeynel’s decision to hide his visit to the local bar in search of Ferhat. When Zeynel is humiliated and beaten by Sir, Sadik comes to his rescue and threatens with leaving the job mid-way if Zeynel is taken off the job. While Sir agrees to keep Zeynel with Sadik, he punishes Zeynel by humiliating Zeynel’s girlfriend, Maria. This act of punishment ignites a flame of vengeance within Zeynel who joins hands with Sadik in taking down Sir, Hayati, and his gang.

Why Was Sir Looking For Ferhat?

With a deadline hanging over his head, Sadik seeks Pinar’s assistance to lure out Ferhat. When Sadik and his group get their hands on Ferhat, they understand the real motivation behind Sir’s plans. It turns out that Ferhat was responsible for the death of Sir’s niece who killed herself due to Ferhat. As Ferhat’s father is a big congressman, Sir couldn’t settle scores with him easily. While he was looking for a way to kill Ferhat, Sadik met the accident and became indebted to Sir. To put his plan into action, Sir pretended to be Sadik and threatened Ferhat, over messages, in the guise of Sir’s niece’s fiance.

Later, Sir handed the same phone over to Sadik and managed to get his fingerprints on a gun that he planned to use to kill Ferhat. Sir only wanted Sadik to get connected with Ferhat from a distance so that when he kills Ferhat, the police connect the murderer with Sadik, who’s apparently a former lover drunk with a vengeance from the perspective of the media and police. Once Ferhat would be taken care of, it would have been easy to kill Sadik and portray it as a suicide by a forlorn lover. Sadik’s determination to kill Sir only gets strengthened through this revelation.

10 Days of a Bad Man Ending Explained

Sadik hatches a plan to secure the muscle power required to defeat Sir. Using the help of Maide, Sadik arranges a meeting with the President of Kaan Incorporated, whose twin children were murdered by Sir. Two years ago, Sadik was tasked with delivering Tevfik, the guy who delivered young victims to the twins for a ritual killing, to Sir. Thus, he knew everything about the disappearance of the twins. Sadik uses this information to secure the muscle and money from the grieving father looking for revenge.

On the other hand, when Ianna and Ranat’s frozen bodies are found by the police, Butek asks Sadik to close his investigation and inform Ismet that Ianna and Ranat were responsible for the death. However, Sadik informs Butek that his investigation is yet to close as he has not found his new suspect. He reveals to Butek that he suspects her because she had the motivation to kill her uncle. Her uncle could have shut down her controversial wellbeing project at any point. Butek shuns the idea and orders Sadik to stay away from her family.

Sadik Ties Loose Ends In The Murder Of Hasmet

Against Butek’s wish, Sadik continues to pursue the case and meets Ismet to inform her that he will soon have the suspect in front of him. He decides to meet Sükran, an old rival of Buket and Gül, who is now employed by Gül’s brother. From Sükran, Sadik finds out that Sükran was left crippled after she was pushed down the staircase by one of Buket and Gül when Sükran started spreading rumors about the two being lovers. A conversation with Zeynel gives Sadik a real plan to tackle the situation and he uses a fake photograph to lure Buket and Gül. At the mansion, he places his conclusions in front of the two suspects.

Sadik reveals that Ismet adopted Butek when Jale gave birth to Gül as Ismet feared that Jale would get all the inheritance. At birth, Butek was separated from her twin and placed with Gül, her lifelong friend and lover. It was many years later when Timur, Butek’s real father showed up, that Butek got in touch with her sister, Filiz. Butek helped her sister and her father who was blackmailing her uncle Hasmet for money.

At this point in time, Butek and Gül also came to know that Gül wasn’t Hasmet’s real daughter when this was revealed through a DNA test conducted for the opening of Hasmet’s ambitious genetic center. This revelation risked Gül’s inheritance and it could have come to a point where Gül may be kicked out, according to Sadik’s story. To silence Hasmet, Buket and Gül hatched the plan to frame Ianna and Ranat in the murder of Hasmet. They also took care of the doctor who found out first about the DNA results.

Who Killed Hasmet In 10 Days of a Bad Man?

After Sadik places his conclusions in front of the two lovers, Gül takes charge of correcting the story. She clarifies that the real story started when Hasmet started pursuing her mother who worked as a nurse at his hospital. He threatened her when she rejected his advances and eventually, they were married. Long after their marriage, when Jale wasn’t able to give Hasmet an heir, he resorted to physical abuse and to save herself, Jale resorted to her old lover for a child. When Gül did not play along with the blackmailing doctor who found out first about the DNA mismatch between her and Hasmet, he revealed the truth to Hasmet, who unleashed his fury over Jale and Gül.

In the end, Gül and Buket killed Hasmet to stop him from handing the reign of the medical empire to his incompetent son. Even though all the details presented by Gül convince Sadik, he manages to find one lie in the heap of truth – that Gül carried out the murder alone and Butek was not present at the crime scene. At the end of 10 Days of a Bad Man, Sadik finds out the truth behind the killing of the patriarch of the Köseoglu empire, but he refrains from spilling the truth in front of Ismet when he discovers that Gül and Buket are having a baby with the help of Buket’s twin sister Filiz, who’s carrying the child. He lets the reigns of the family stay in the hands of the enterprising lovers.

With the help of the team provided by the President of Kaan Incorporated, Sadik, Zeynel, and Hüso manage to remove Sir’s trusted men from the equation and Zeynel gets the opportunity to settle the score for Maria’s humiliation. Zeynel continues to pretend that Sir’s master plan has succeeded, but Sir gets the surprise of his life when he’s faced with the assailants brought by Sadik. Although an injured Sir requests for mercy, Sadik shoots Sir point-blank, in a state of intoxication resulting from his intake of excessive amounts of painkillers and alcohol.

After setting the place on fire, Zeynel and Hüso take an intoxicated Sadik away from the place.
