Outer Banks 3 follows John B, Kiara, Pope, Sarah, and JJ on the “Poguelandia” island as they continue their pursuit of the elusive treasure.
After the surprising cliffhanger that ended season 2 of Outer Banks with doubts surrounding the Pogues’ survival, season 3 opens on a hopeful note as the lovably scruffy teenagers lead an exciting summer stranded on the island.
The trailer features the Outer Banks gang Pogues reunited as John B, Kiara, Pope, Sarah, and JJ begin a new phase of their life as castaways on the island named “Poguelandia”.
Outer Banks 3 directly follows season 2, which ends with the adventurous teens stranded on the island with no escape or refuge. The Pogues continue to entertain themselves with their characteristically dangerous and life-threatening stunts in Poguelandia, depicted by JJ’s frivolous dive off a cliff.
Scenes from the trailer depicting the Pogues on a speeding boat and being chased in a van on the main road hint at the castaways’ escape from Poguelandia. Hinting at comebacks by previous antagonists like Ward, Outer Banks 3 promises renewed adventure and thrilling action as the teenagers’ treasure hunt to recover the 400 million dollars-worth gold reaches exhilarating heights.
The official synopsis of Outer Banks 3 reads:
“A group of teenagers from the wrong side of the tracks stumble upon a treasure map that unearths a long-buried secret.”
Created by novelist and screenwriter Shannon Burke and the twin screenwriter duo Jonas and Josh Pate, the third installment of the adventure drama series will span over ten episodes.
Outer Banks 3 will feature Chase Stokes, Madeline Cline, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, J.D., Austin North, Charles Esten, Carlisia Grant, Drew Starkey, Caroline Arapoglou, Cullen Moss, Julia Antonelli, and Deion Smith.
Outer Banks 3 will premiere on Netflix in 2023.
