Heaven Story Summary
When a group of police cadets visit a nearby forest for a National Cadet Corps camp, they come across a half-decomposed body.
The police arrive at the scene and begin their investigation.
The forensics conclude that the victim died four days ago and was possibly poisoned through the jugular vein. Using the dirt in the nails of the victim, the police also suspect that the individual was murdered on the spot where the body was found. Moreover, a 9-inch shoe print was found near the site.
The victim is revealed to be a businessman named Fabian John who went missing a few days back. Using the shoe print, which is a new model in the market with very few sales, the police arrive at a list of individuals who bought that particular shoe.
When the guard of the nearby forest check-post also corroborates that a policeman, who was also on the list of shoe buyers, arrived in the morning and entered the forest, the police conclude that it was the policeman who was the killer.
The policeman turns out to be SHO Peter Kurishingal (Suraj Venjaramoodu). He is arrested for the murder.
The story turns into a flashback at this moment. SHO Peter Kurishingal is a dedicated police officer who lives with his mother and his son. His wife passed away. He is smart at his work and remains eager to help others.
One day, he receives a call related to multiple homicides in a nearby house. When he reaches there, he discovers that his son, who was visiting his friend’s house, is also among the victims of the crime.
Another top police officer Kishore is appointed to investigate the case and Peter’s close aide Sukumaran Pillai is assigned with him for help. A helper at the house, Balvinder, is suspected to be the killer at first and a look-out notice is issued in his name.
The forensic team finds the blood sample of an individual other than the victims at the crime spot. Upon investigating at the local hospital, it’s revealed that a man named Stephen (Jaffer Idukki) had visited the hospital with a hand injury.
Admitting to his crimes, Stephen tells the police that he and Balvinder intended to only steal but had to kill the residents when things got out of hand. Balvinder has been on the run ever since.
While the police look for the perpetrator, Peter talks to the District Police Chief to become a part of the investigating team. Although the Chief does not give the official permission, she allows for a parallel enquiry by Peter in his son’s death.
Peter soon finds out that both Balvinder and Stephen are right-handers. However, based on the photographs of the victims, who were found in tied-up conditions, it can be said that the suspect was a left-handed individual as the tape was wound in an anti-clockwise direction.
Earning his senior’s trust with his theory, Peter takes charge of the investigation officially. He heads to the crime scene – the house where the victims were found – and recovers the body of Balvinder buried beneath the tiles on the porch.
Stephen goes against his earlier testimony and admits to killing Balvinder for the money. After going through Stephen’s visitor list, the police round up Lateef, who was given the responsibility by Lateef to safe keep the money.
The fingerprints on the cash lead to a man who was known by the name Johnny and whose whereabouts are not known.
Meanwhile, Peter’s investigation into the background of the victim Mathews reveals that Mathews suddenly got rich when he received one crore rupee from the Customs department for helping stop a diamond smuggling incident at the airport. The accused in the smuggling case, Ubaid, got released six months ago.
Peter theorizes that Umaid possibly killed Mathews and his family for taking revenge for ratting him out.
While Peter remains unsure if Johnny and Ubaid are the same people, his attempts to keep Stephen in custody fail as the High Court quashes the police’s case because of a lack of evidence.
But Peter’s true intention was to find who bailed Stephen. When Peter follows Stephen’s advocate, he realizes that Investigating Officer Kishore was the one who arranged Stephen’s bail.

Heaven Ending Explained
Peter decides to take matters unofficially and confronts Kishore, questioning him about his role in the case. Kishore reveals that Johnny, who fled the juvenile jail, soon became a diamond smuggler by the name of Fabian John, who used pregnant women to smuggle diamonds through the airport.
After Mathews came across Fabian’s illegal activities, he passed on the information to the Customs. Fabian’s wife, who was being used as the carrier of the diamonds, got embroiled in the following investigation and suffered a miscarriage. Fabian’s wife committed suicide soon after.
Fabian’s hunt for the one who was responsible for his wife and child’s death ended when he found out about Mathews and decided to kill Mathews and his family. Peter’s son Sebin became a victim as he was present at the house to celebrate the birthday of Mathews’ daughter.
Peter confronts Fabian John and kills him to exact revenge for the death of his son. He injects air into Fabian’s jugular vein to cause a heart stroke.
Does Peter end up in jail for the murder of Fabian?
Coming to the present day, the trial against Peter begins, but Peter’s advocate presents evidence that Peter was attending a party in a different country at the time the police claim the murder to have happened. Also, the death was not caused by poison as the police suspected based on the injection marks.
While the police and forensic expert remain confident about the time of death of Fabian, it turns out that Peter took the help of Philip, the father of a girl Peter had rescued in one of his cases, to preserve Fabian’s body for two days in a freezer before dumping it in the forest.
The forensic expert arrived at the wrong time of death by judging the body on the amount of decomposition it had undergone.
Peter had managed to exact revenge for the death of the innocent children through the genius that he often employs to round up criminals and remained a free man as the court releases him based on the inept police investigation.
