Jee Karda Story Summary

Seven childhood friends – Lavanya (Tamannaah Bhatia), Rishabh (Suhail Nayyar), Arjun(Aashim Gulati), Preet (Anya Singh), Shahid (Hussain Dalal), Melroy (Sayan Banerjee),  and Sheetal (Samvedna Suwalka) – re-unite at Sheetal and Sameer’s third wedding anniversary. During the celebrations, while all of them are drunk, Rishabh proposes to Lavanya and Lavanya says yes to the proposal. However, the next day, the two wake up with their doubts about being ready for it. However, they choose to figure things out as they go as they have loved each other for the last fifteen years.

A lot of chaos and misunderstandings start arising as their parents get together to discuss the marriage. The arguments between Rishabh’s parents and Lavanya’s mother regarding the cultural differences also leads to the couple doubting their alliance. However, the two stick together through all the thick and thins, as they truly love each other.

The challenges for the couple do not end even during their pre-wedding ceremonies. Lavanya’s mother pole-dancing at the Sangeet ceremony becomes a major issue for Rishabh’s family as the guests and relatives start leaving the function due to embarrassment. Rishabh asks Lavanya to stop her mother, resulting in an argument between the couple.

Lavanya leaves the venue angry and ends up getting sexually involved with Arjun in the moment. However, she realizes that she was not supposed to be doing it and sorts things out with Rishabh while keeping the episode with Arjun a secret.

Eventually, despite the turbulences, Lavanya and Rishabh get married. However, things begin to change as they start doubting whether they made a mistake, as a result of feeling bound and compelled by their long-standing history.

It’s revealed that the seven friends had visited a fortune-teller, while they were in school. The fortune-teller had predicted one thing about each of them. He had instructed Lavanya to remain wary of the year 2022, Preet to be careful of love, Rishabh to be cautious of his brother, Shahid to be cautious of his status, Sheetal to remain wary of sweets, Arjun to be wary of his father, and Melroy to be courageous. Much to the amusement of the group, the predictions start turning out to be true as the seven friends grow older.

Preet invites her friends to her 30th birthday party. Just before the six friends reach the party, new developments in the life of each of the seven friends pave the way for greater confusion and chaos.

Jee Karda Ending Explained

While their marriage seems picture-perfect to the outside world, Sheetal tells her husband Sameer (Malhar Thakar) that she is unable to keep going in his house as a result of the chaos it brings with it. She requests Sameer to just agree to move to a different flat on the same floor, as she does not want to separate him from his family in a toxic way. However, Sameer fails to understand her concerns and tells her to give him some time to think about it. Sheetal accuses Sameer of lying, as he always does. Sameer uses his family business of sweets and confectionery, and his property share as an excuse for not moving away from the family.

Sheetal starts packing her bag to move out, and Sameer tries to stop her from leaving him but Sheetal tells him that it is Sameer who is refusing to come with her. Sheetal talks about her concerns to Sameer’s mother, and she tells her mother-in-law that she is pregnant and that she would not be able to raise her child in that overcrowded house.

Sameer’s mother understands Sheetal’s concerns and admits that they failed to understand the practical and logical concerns of their children, in the name of culture and traditions. She tells Sheetal that the couple can very happily move out, but she also requests Sheetal to not let their family bond break, to which Sheetal agrees.

Melroy had always been insecure about his relationship with Yavar. He always avoided being seen in public with Melroy. He also accused Melroy of being privileged and having nothing else to worry about, while he has a family and their issues to deal with. He gets physically violent with Melroy one day after the two get into a heated argument.

Yavar’s marriage is fixed by his family, to a girl named Sana. Yavar reaches out to Melroy once again, asking Melroy to save him. He sends a message to Melroy, telling him that he won’t be able to live after his forced marriage with Sana. When Melroy goes to visit Yavar, Sana finds the two being intimate together. However, her friend tells her to forget seeing it as the guests have already started arriving.

When Yavar tells Melroy that he still loves him, Melroy confirms that he will never be able to forgive Yavar for what he did to him. Melroy was physically abused and left by Yavar after the latter failed to understand Melroy’s concerns and seriousness regarding their relationship. Melroy asks Yavar to make a choice and be courageous for once and not ruin the girl’s life too.

On the other hand, Arjun discovers that his father was not dead all this time. In fact, he was the illegitimate son of a legendary singer. His mother kept it a secret from him in order to protect him. The revelation is made by the singer himself, as he accuses Arjun of plagiarism in his latest song. Arjun believed the lyrics to be written by his mother, as she always used to hum those lyrics. However, it was his father’s creation, which was passed on to Arjun by his mother.

Who Does Lavanya End Up With?

Shahid realizes that his class was a reason for him being alienated from the group, since their childhood. He brings this up at Preet’s birthday party, as he gets into an argument with Rishabh. The argument gets heated as Shahid ends up questioning whether the group even considers him a friend. As a result, Rishabh gets offended. The situation hits its peak when Shahid shocking reveals Lavanya’s involvement with Arjun, on the day of their Sangeet ceremony.

To add to the heat of the tense situation developing among the friends, a fire breaks out at the venue due to a half-burnt cigarette thrown by Lavanya. Arjun reaches the venue after all the chaos has already transpired behind him. Unaware of the situation, he hugs and asks Rishabh about the fire. Rishabh replies by saying that Arjun burned down his household. In a fit of rage, Rishabh takes a hit at Arjun. While being taken away in the police van, Rishabh receives a message that an app he was working on is finally sold for ten million dollars. However, the news fails to give him any joy now.

In the end, Lavanya’s relationship both with Rishabh and with Arjun seems to be blurred with a lot of uncertainty. By the time the friends realize what went wrong, the situation has already spiraled out of control. Their fate continues to hang by a thread, as they look forward to untangling the mess they find themselves in.
