My Fault (2023) Ending Explained: Will Noah And Nick Choose To Be At Fault?

My Fault, originally titled Culpia Mia, is a Spanish-language film that follows the story of Noah as a new chapter unfolds in her life when she gets involved in a forbidden love trope with her stepbrother.

When Noah’s mother decides to move into the mansion of William Leister, Noah’s stepfather, Noah is compelled to leave everything behind, including her boyfriend, and her best friend. My Fault is an adaptation of Culpa Mia, one of the three books of the Culpables trilogy, written by Mercedes Ron.

My Fault Story Summary

Noah’s mother, Rafaella (Marta Hazas) marries William Leister (Iván Sánchez) and decides to move into his mansion. Noah (Nicole Wallace) is not happy with her mother’s decision. Noah accuses Rafaella of being selfish. She says that Rafaella does not care about her daughter’s happiness, as Noah must leave behind her best friend and boyfriend for the sake of her mother.

The Leister mansion is surrounded by all the luxuries and comforts of life. However, none of it interests Noah as she rants about it to her best friend Betty (Eve Ryan). While she is exploring the house, she runs into William’s son, Nicolas (Gabriel Guevara) aka Nick, her stepbrother. The two appear to have clashing personalities. However, a new chapter unfolds in Noah’s life as the two of them start feeling an irresistible sense of attraction toward each other.

Nick Lives A Secret Life

While Nick’s father believes that Nick is a brilliant law student, and even works at a law firm, helping with legal paperwork, Nick is actually involved in illegal activities such as illegal car racing and physical fights, on which bets are made.

Nicholas became a part of these activities when he fled to Mexico to rebel against his father after his credit cards were blocked. There, Nick met Lion who introduced him to the other way of living life.

Noah is introduced to this side of Nick’s life when she is given a ride by Mario (Lucas Nabor) after Nick leaves Noah stranded on the highway while returning early from a family dinner. Mario reveals to Noah that he is Nick’s friend and that he is going to the same party as Nick. Noah realizes that Nick had lied as he left the dinner early saying that he was going to work, while he was actually going to this party.

Mario tells Noah that Nick is the leader of his gang, which includes Lion (Victor Varona) and his girlfriend Jenna (Eva Ruiz), as well as Mario. Noah becomes friends with Jenna, and Jenna tells Noah about Ronnie (Fran Berenguer), the leader of one of the most dangerous gangs, and Nick’s enemy. The two of them are the major rivals in the world of car races and street fights.

Later, in the one of illegal car races, Nick ends up losing his car to Ronnie when Noah ends up violating the rules of the race by driving instead of Nick. Despite Noah winning the race, Nick is compelled to pay Ronnie, and also give away his car.

Noah Starts Reliving Her Fears

Noah’s father (Iván Massagué) was a violent man, who used to subject Noah’s mother to domestic violence, while Noah was a child. Her traumatic memories as an eyewitness of those events haunt her to date. When Noah finds Nick to be involved in activities like illegal activities, her fears resurface, and she tells Nick that she cannot afford to have another violent man in her life ever again.

The reason for Noah’s fears and anger remains unknown to Nick until one day his father tells him about Noah’s childhood trauma. It comes as a surprise to Nick as Noah had told him that her father was dead. Nick’s father tells Nick that Noah’s father was actually sent to prison for his actions. However, he was released two weeks ago, and therefore a danger hovers over Noah as he had attempted to kill her once earlier as Noah had given the key testimony in his conviction. The release of her father from prison is kept secret from Noah as her mother does not want Noah to be scared.

My Fault Ending Explained

Noah keeps receiving continuous threats from someone anonymously. While she suspects it to be Ronnie trying to get his revenge after she defeated him in the car race, it was actually her father sending her these threats after getting released from prison.

While Noah was at a party with Jenna and others, Noah’s father readies to attack her, as he waits outside the house for Noah to come out. However, his plan fails when Nick shows up at that place, just in time, preventing Noah’s father from doing anything to Noah.

Later, Ronnie is revealed to be working for Noah’s father when Noah is kidnapped by Ronnie from Nick’s car when Nick gets down at a pharmacy. Noah is taken to her father. Meanwhile, Nick is able to identify Ronnie in the security camera footage when the cops start their search for Noah.

Does Noah And Nick End Up Together?

Noah’s mother receives a call from Noah’s father, demanding one million, to which she agrees. While Rafaella and William wait for Noah’s father at the decided spot, Noah’s father keeps an eye on them through a hidden camera. Just then Nick realizes that the location of his car can be tracked as he was still paying the insurance for it.

Noah’s father realizes that the cops are there and that they will find him. He escapes in the car with Noah, commanding her to drive, as directed by him. The different units of the police force start following him. Even Nick decides to follow Noah’s car. After an intense chase, Noah’s father is ultimately shot dead by the police and Noah is saved. Ronnie and his gang members are also arrested by the cops.

As the relationship between Noah and Nick is discovered by their parents, they are asked to put an end to it even though Noah and Nick seem to have different plans for each other. Although Rafaella is grateful to Nick for saving Noah, she tells William that Nick and Noah need to be stopped at any cost.
