Bloody Daddy follows the story of Sumair, an officer in the narcotics department, as he uncovers a drug-dealing nexus involving a corrupt official.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zaffar, Bloody Daddy is a 2023 Hindi-language action thriller film featuring Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, and Ronit Roy. The plot follows Sumair and Jaggi as they steal a bag of cocaine from a car belonging to Sikandar Chowdhary, who holds Sumair’s son, Atharv as a hostage, and blackmails Sumair to return the bag.
Bloody Daddy Story Summary
Sumair (Shahid Kapoor), an officer in the narcotics department, and his colleague, Jaggi (Zeishan Quadri), steal a bag of cocaine from a car. The bag belongs to Sikandar (Ronit Roy), a businessman and a drug dealer. Sumair was expected to spend time with his son, Atharv (Sartaaj Kakkar), as the two were on holiday. However, Sumair finds himself unable to do so due to his duties.
Much to Sumair’s dismay, Atharv goes missing from the hotel room. In reality, he gets kidnapped by Sikandar, who blackmails Sumair and demands the bag be returned to him. Riya (Suparna Moitra), Sumair’s ex-wife, holds Sumair responsible for the disappearance of their son. While Jaggi tries to convince Sumair to use the extra drugs to earn money, Sumair refuses to do so. He decides to return the bag to Sikandar, a drug dealer, to save his son.
Meanwhile, since the robbery of the bag resulted in a killing, the case is taken up for investigation. It is suspected by two officials of the anti-corruption department, Sameer (Rajeev Khandelwal) and Aditi (Diana Penty), that Sumair was involved in the incident. The two officers follow Sumair as he goes to Sikandar’s hotel to return the bag.
At first, Sumair takes a packet of drugs to Sikandar, as he first wishes to see if his son is alright, and hides the bag of drugs in the gents restroom. He plans on coming back for the bag, once he is assured that Atharv is alright. However, the entire plan flops when he comes back to get the bag for Sikandar and does not find it where he had hidden it. It is revealed that the bag was moved by Aditi and hidden in the ladies’ restroom.
Sumair tells Bunty (Vikram Mehra), the bartender in the hotel bar, that it is Sikandar’s anniversary and asks him to come to Sikandar’s room with a cake and champagne, after five minutes. He tells him to get two others with him, as some furniture needs to be moved.
Hameed (Sanjay Kapoor), who has paid Sikandar for the drugs, reaches Sikandar’s hotel to receive the delivery of the drugs. In order to save Atharv, Sameer decides to dupe Sikandar as he takes help from two chefs in Sikandar’s hotel to make small packets filled with flour. He fills another bag with these packets and damages the chain of the bag such that it does not open easily. He takes the bag to Sikandar, who gives it to Hameed.
The real motive of Sumair asking for Bunty’s help is revealed when Sumair warns Sikandar and Hameed of a raid by the NCB. When Bunty reaches the room with the room service, Sikandar and Hameed panic as they think that it is the officers from the narcotics department. Sikandar manages to make Hameed and his accomplices escape from the back door, only to realize that it was the hotel staff who had knocked. On the other hand, Hameed discovers that the bag is filled with packets of flour and not cocaine.
Just when Sumair was leaving with his son, he is stopped by Vicky, Sikandar’s brother, as Sikandar and Hameed realize that all of this is Sumair’s doing. Resultantly, Atharv is kidnapped once again from the hotel’s club.
Meanwhile, Aditi and Sameer look out for Sumair at the club. Aditi catches hold of Sumair but falls prey to Sumair’s lie about him working undercover to uncover a drug-dealing nexus. He tells her that this nexus involves a corrupt officer, making Aditi to reveal the location of the drugs in return. However, Sumair does not find the bag at the said location as it had been taken away by Sameer. When Sameer finds Sumair, the two get into a brutal fight as Sameer attempts to arrest Sumair.
On the other hand, Jaggi reaches the hotel as Sumair had asked him to come there. It is revealed that Jaggi and Sameer are actually partners in crime, as the two planned on using drugs to earn money. A twist comes Sumair’s way when Sameer ends up shooting Jaggi, instead of Sumair, removing Jaggi from Sameer’s way. Meanwhile, Sumair accidentally reads the messages in Jaggi’s phone and learns that Jaggi was working with Sameer all along.
Hameed is shot dead by Sikandar when the two get into a heated argument after they catch Sumair for duping them. Sumair reveals the location of the bag to Sikandar – the ladies’ washroom. But when Sikandar goes there and does not find the bag, Sumair decides to knock Sikandar down while his men wait outside. Sumair manages to escape through the roof before Sikandar’s men come in.
Bloody Daddy Ending Explained
Sumair comes to know about Atharv’s location when Bunty mentions that he was asked to prepare hot chocolate with lactose-free milk. This rings a bell as Sumair knows that Atharv only drinks lactose-free milk. Sumair follows Bunty as he goes to deliver the hot chocolate to one of the rooms. Meanwhile, Sumair and Vicky (Ankur Bhatia), Sikandar’s brother, get into a violent fight. When Vicky dies, Sikandar orders his men to kill Sumair and his son.
Just when Sumair was about to escape with Atharv in Sameer’s car, Sikandar happens to attack them. Sikandar finds the bag with cocaine in the car and takes it with him. However, a fight breaks out here too. Rafa (Mukesh S. Bhatt), Hameed’s right-hand man, is shot dead by Aditi as she reaches the location, just in time, and ends up saving Sumair. Ultimately, Sumair manages to escape with Atharv. On the other hand, Sikandar gets arrested by Aditi and Sameer.
While they proceed towards the police station, Sumair tells Aditi about Sameer and Jaggi being corrupt as he shares the conversation between Jaggi and Sameer with Aditi to corroborate his revelation. Sameer realizes that Aditi knows the truth about him and decides to shoot Aditi as well as the driver, resulting in an accident. When the police reach to rescue the injured, Sameer plays innocent by placing the gun in Sikandar’s hands, as he pretends to lie unconscious. However, his plans are ruined as it is revealed that Aditi had managed to survive the accident.
Did Sumair Win The Game?
Meanwhile, Sumair, who had escaped with Atharva post the accident, loses consciousness while driving the car, due to extreme blood loss from his wound. Atharv manages to get a ride in a stranger’s car and takes Sumair to the hospital. Thanks to Atharv, Sumair is saved and gets discharged from the hospital after 48 hours. Atharv’s mother Riya asks Atharv whether he wants to join her, along with Akash, her new partner, for a trip to Goa. Atharv refuses as he tells her that he has plans with Sumair. This comes as a win for Sumair as Riya always accused him of being a bad and irresponsible father.
Aditi meets Sumair and tells him that an investigation would be conducted about the missing three kilograms of cocaine from the bag that was recovered. Sumair agrees to be investigated and plays innocent. However, Atharv, who is waiting for him in the car, finds the packet in the car and chooses to stay quiet about it for the moment.
In the end, Sumair’s story about working to unveil a corrupt officer plays out in his favor with Jaggi and Sameer getting caught. However, his role in stealing a portion of the cocaine remains a secret.
