Wedding Season Ending Explained: Do Asha and Ravi fall in love?

Wedding Season follows Asha and Ravi who indulge in a fake relationship to stop their parents from finding prospective partners for them to marry.

Wedding Season Story and Summary

Asha Maurya is an ambitious business executive in the US, but she does not qualify to be an ideal Indian bride from her mother’s perspective. Still, her mother attempts her best to make her look like one on the matrimonial site.

After sending a prospective groom to Asha’s workplace and almost ruining her business presentation about a fund Asha wants to start for poor women in India, Asha’s mother fixes a meeting for her with an Indian boy named Ravishankar Shah, an MIT pass out.

Convinced by her sister and forced by her mother, Asha agrees to meet Ravi. But Asha makes it clear in her meeting that she is just meeting him to get her mother to remove her profile from the matrimonial website.

At home, Ravi faces equal pressure from his father to get married.

Asha is given another chance by her boss at convincing the clients from Singapore. But her mother remains adamant about finding her daughter a bride at a relative’s wedding.

At the wedding, Asha and Ravi cross paths again. Being pestered by a couple of aunts at the wedding, Asha lies to them that she and Ravi are going out together. She convinces Ravi to put up with the fake relationship for the summer so that she isn’t bothered anymore and can complete her project.

Asha and Ravi continue pretending to be a couple through the rest of the wedding season. Her sister Priya, meanwhile, starts having doubts about her American boyfriend Nick just weeks before her wedding.

One day, when Asha decides to pass on to going to a wedding with Ravi and goes to a party with her boss, she again stumbles across Ravi, who was the DJ at the party. They start sharing their stories with each other.

Ravi tells Asha how he loves being a DJ because pursuing music has been the only thing he has done for himself. Asha tells him that she left Jersey after her breakup with her boyfriend Krish. She left her banking job there to start over in a new city.

Asha slowly leans forward to kiss Ravi upon hearing his story, but the moment fades away when the music breaks their attention.

The next day, Nick offers to find more about Ravi from a friend of his at MIT. Asha pretends to ignore the whole conversation, but it is clear that she likes Ravi.

In the next meeting, Asha and Ravi seal their relationship with a kiss, yet Asha asks Ravi to keep their relationship under the carpet for the time being.

Over the following days, Asha and Ravi grow closer to each other. The vacation’s interrupted when Asha gets to know that the representatives from Singapore will be coming in nine hours to hear Asha’s pitch.

Wedding Season Ending Explained

Looking at a nervous Asha, Ravi helps her regain her faith in her idea. Consequently, Asha delivers a great presentation, getting more than the money she asked for from the bank and receiving a promotion along with it. She finds out that another charitable trust called Red Star Standard has decided to contribute to Asha’s loan initiative.

When Asha tells her mother that there’s good news, her mother assumes that Asha and Ravi are going to share the news of their engagement. Although it creates chaos at the family gathering when Asha reveals that she will be going to London after promotion, the revelation by Ravi that he’s not an MIT graduate and instead works as a DJ leaves everybody in shock.

When Ravi’s father accuses him of being unsuccessful, Ravi reveals that he’s been paying for his father’s restaurant’s catering orders to help him through a fake trust called Red Star Standard as the restaurant has been failing for the past month.

Asha realises that it was Ravi who also volunteered for her loan initiative through the same trust. Seeing the action by Ravi as a sign of lack of belief in her capabilities, Asha cuts contact with him.

Ravi goes through a tough period with his father after trying to make him accept his identity as a DJ. Asha contemplates accepting the offer as she finds it hard to accept Ravi’s help and leave her family behind.

Asha’s father, who had faced discrimination in getting promotions as an Indian, convinces Asha to accept the offer.

Do Asha and Ravi unite in the end?

The preparations begin for Priya and Nick’s wedding. Asha and her mother share a conversation about Asha’s mother’s lover before her marriage. Her mother couldn’t marry the guy she loved. But she tells Asha that Ravi is the guy for him because he looks at Asha with love in his eyes.

On the other hand, Priya faces a meltdown. Thanks to Asha, Priya gets back to her feet. Asha convinces Priya that Nick loves her and in doing so, she realises that she loves Ravi.

Asha rushes to Ravi’s father’s restaurant where she finds Ravi on a date with another girl. Yet Asha confesses her love for him and runs off seeing that Ravi has already found another girl. Ravi tries to stop her but before he can, Asha leaves.

The wedding takes place after some delays. At the wedding reception, Priya and Nick introduce Ravi as the DJ. A relative of Asha tries to call out Ravi for being a fraud.

While Asha’s parents handle the relative, Ravi tries to confess his identity in front of everybody before he gets interrupted by his father, who proclaims that he is proud of his son even if he’s not an MIT graduate.

Later, Ravi confesses his love for Asha, clarifying that the girl from the restaurant earlier is his cousin and winning Asha’s heart.

In the end, Ravi and Asha unite in love without letting any fear of judgment or pressure interfere in their relationship.
